What's New in Ailo

week of 9 september 2024

Is it a bird, is it a plane? Nope we just turbocharged your upcoming inspections list (x3 faster) 🚀

We’ve all been there – you’re rushing to get to your first inspection, it’s been a while since you opened your mobile app, and now that spinning wheel won’t stop spinning. Why?! Because the app works offline, we have to download all of the data needed when you open the app. This can be a lot of data if you haven’t opened inspections for a while!
Now, only inspections scheduled for the day will be automatically downloaded making it about x3 faster to download your list and hit the road.
Want to download a scheduled inspection for another day? Easy. Just tap it open first while you’re still online to download it. You’ll then see an ‘offline ready’ icon next to it in your app.
Emily B. in Bendigo, we know you’ll be happy with this update! Thank you to the property managers who tested this out early for us 👇

PS. Let’s see how many people read the fine print 😉 Check your inbox!! The first 5 property managers to reply to the weekly release notes email (sent 12 September 2024) with your favourite thing about inspections on Ailo (50 words or less) will receive an exclusive Ailo Inspections Kit, including a luxe neoprene tote bag, key pouch, iPad carry case, reusable drink bottle, and phone holder valued at over $100.

Making your inspections seamless

✅ New filters in your inspections planner

If you ever need to find a past inspection or look for a specific scheduled one, now you can do it heaps faster with a new inspection type filter: routine, ingoing or outgoing.

✅ Have you ever accidentally deleted a photo from an inspection? Yeah, no, we haven’t either 🫣

Just like Cher, Lav has given you the power to turn back time by restoring anything you deleted.
Just pop into Ailo.pm, and once the inspection has been uploaded you can restore entire areas or individual ones.In the future, we’ll give you the ability to restore individual photos and to use these powers in your mobile app, too.

Shh! Secret Squirrel 🐿️

Every month, we’ll take a peek at our roadmap and share a sneaky glimpse of a new feature we’re building that our customers asked for. Just don’t tell the product managers 😉 – Liz & Emma from Marketing

Stop, collaborate, and listen

51,166 notes and counting!

We’ve already seen so many clever ways property managers are using notes to make it easier to collaborate and communicate with colleagues. We crunched the data to find the most common themes (so far!) and have some juicy insights and tips to share:
✅ “Routine inspection” – If this is about investors wanting to come along, instead consider leveraging the power of Projects for this reminder.
✅ “Plumber” – To help you get repairs sorted even faster, we’re exploring how we can put your preferred and emergency suppliers straight in the Ailo app for you and your renters.
✅ “Son”, “daughter”, “strata management”, “building manager” – Sometimes it takes a village, so we’re working on adding secondary contacts to make it easier for you to keep everyone in the loop.
✅ “Strata” – Okay this is really early days, but we’re working on giving you the power to track strata plans in Ailo.
✅ “Renewal & leasing fees” – You don’t have to track fees manually in Ailo!
✅ “Smoke alarms” – Keeping rental properties compliant under the patchwork of overlapping and evolving legislation is a lot of work. Did you know Ailo offers a fully-integrated property compliance solution (with automated work orders and invoicing!) so you don’t have to rely on notes?!

We already receive a lot of great feedback, but we want more! What can we say, we’re greedy 🤷‍♀️ We regularly award some of our favourite ideas with a $50 Mecca, BWS or The Iconic gift voucher.

🎉 Congrats Stacey P from the Hunter Valley in Sydney 🎉

“Emergency contact numbers - all tenants obviously have these in their lease but can you make these accessible in the renter app (ie plumber, electrician, and SES) with the ability for the agency to update it?”

Burst pipe, no hot water, leaking roof – when urgent repairs crop up after hours (it’s always after 6pm, isn’t it?!), it’s critical renters can quickly find and contact your trusted tradies. So, instead of digging out and flipping through their lease agreement, we’re adding emergency numbers directly into their Ailo app. With the most up-to-date info at their fingertips, you and your renters will have peace of mind knowing you can get the right help, quickly.
